Innovation workshop connects aluminium industry with research experts
Around 60 industry and research experts will attend the European Aluminium’s Innovation Hub workshop, jointly organised with Professor Friedrich (IME- RWTH) and AMAP. It takes place on 21 June at AMAP’s offices in Aachen, Germany.
The workshop aims at encouraging collaboration with aluminium industry and to initiate project ideas, potentially under the Horizon 2020 framework programme. Experts from research and technology organisations and universities will present new ideas and concepts to industrial experts from company members.
Topics include melt purification, dross and bottom ash recycling, process optimisation and modelling, sensors and digitalisation and joining issues. Three parallel sessions address challenges specific to primary production, recycling and manufacturing.
Launched by European Aluminium in 2015, the Innovation Hub is a community made up of companies from across Europe’s aluminium value chain. Find out more about the Innovation Hub and see stories of innovation from the aluminium industry.
