On November 20th, AMAP celebrated a significant milestone: the 100th AMAP Colloquium, hosted as a special joint session during the Surface Inspection Summit (SIS 2025) in Aachen.
This anniversary marks more than a decade of collaborative research, industrial engagement, and innovation in the aluminium value chain.
Our two-hour session focused on state-of-the-art technologies and innovations in surface inspection for aluminium flat rolled and extruded products. Experts from academia and industry shared insights, discussed current challenges, and highlighted future directions in automated surface quality control.

An informal networking gathering provided additional opportunity for exchange and strengthened collaboration across the aluminium and surface inspection communities.
